While Computer already includes a basic settings experience, these explorations envision the larger framework. Grounded in user research and backend feasibility, the goal was to explore practical ways to make setup smarter, faster, and more intuitive.

Problem

Settings have traditionally been one of the most complex and tedious areas to configure. From user interviews and session recordings, one insight was clear: users needed reassurance that their orgs were set up correctly, without gaps or misconfigurations.

To act as a true copilot, AI needed to go beyond a chat interface on the side. It had to appear directly within the main workflow—providing suggestions, surfacing next steps, and guiding users through required actions for smooth system setup.

Solution

We designed a proactive AI agent that supports users in real time. The agent offers inline suggestions, highlights next steps, and prompts users to apply smart defaults or templates. Users review and approve actions before execution, ensuring both control and efficiency.

This approach reduces cognitive load, prevents errors, and allows users to configure settings directly within their workflow—without switching context or relying heavily on support.
